Winners and Losers ~ September 3, 2010

William Hague is a winner for facing insinuations head on and killing the story before it sprouted arms and legs, which would have happened had he not come forward so strongly. Some think, by talking about their personal lose, grieve and the difficulties him and his wife Ffion endured, he went too far. Maybe it was a lot of information, but in this occasion it needed to be shared and that was that.

The loser has to be the BBC’s Radio 4, the Today programme, who, did not even try to hide their direct attack on the Tories. By having two top Tory-haters, John Prescott and Sally Bercow, respectively discussing phone taping allegations and William Hague’s statement, is beyond bizarre. But what I found even more astonishing is John Humphrey spoon feeding Prescott, Andy Coulson’s direct involvement – while all Lord Prescott wanted was to prove that, despite numerous attempts by him, his input was dismissed by the Met!

The BBC’s shameful political bias is not a revelation, but it will help if every once and awhile they pretend to be fair, neutral and acted as if they can do balanced even if it is just to seen objective!

Allowing the transmission of an opposing view to your own is not bias, I’m afraid.

Perhaps Labour should try to use the free press, you know, Murdoch?

I don’t want to adorn your blog with swearing, but what did The Sun’s political editor say just prior to the election?

Find out here: http://www.brianmoylan.info/blog.php?blogid=224 :)

Of course allowing the transmission of opposing views is not bias, but spoon feeding a specific response is. And, not allowing for a counter view can in no way be balanced!

But on a positive note, I very much enjoy and appreciate you taking the time and commenting ;-))

I have never been a supporter of William Hague ever since I first heard him as a boy addressing the Conservative Conference. I also feel that he was just about the worst Leader the Conservative Party has had, eclipsed only by Ian Duncan-Smith for hopelessness as was shown by the awful result of the 2001 General Election on his watch.

However, I was incensed by the cheap attempt to smear him with the unproven and unwarranted accusation of being a Homosexual. If there was any man in the present Cabinet I would think was LESS likely to be “Gay”, apart of course from Ken Clarke, it would be William Hague!

Thankfully this rumour has run out of steam and will be written off as only another “Silly Season” story by cub reporter “Phil Space”. My feelings are for his wife Ffion in her suffering miscarriages and the terrible grief that must cause to her and him.
