Walaa's Weekly Wrap-Up ~ December 21, 2013

The week was dominated by three stories.

First it was the Food Banks Debate at the House of Commons. A serious and sensitive issue that in my opinion merit unity and putting party politics to one side. Yet Labour came to Chambers with one goal in mind. Not to find solutions and offer alternatives but to blame it all on the Conservative led Coalition government.

The sad thing it was naked ambition and false accusations backed only with Labour being out of office since 2010. When in fact, Food Banks started under Labour and their use and prominence remarkably grow under their watch and before May 2010.

Esther McVey was brilliant in her response to Angela Eagle. She had the facts and the stats to back her arguments, and showed the opposition that in her watch they cannot use big empty words and get away with them.

The sad and unfortunate thing is the whole debate became a Labour Party Political broadcast, full of slogans and putting the blame on this government. When as Laura Sandys put it: “Food Banks were not created by, for, or because of this government.

The second was finding the murderers of Drummer Lee Rigby guilty. I hope the two men are sentenced to life without any parole and jailed in a submarine somewhere in the North Pole. And if that is not possible I hope our justice system finds something equally harsh and cold with which to punish these two assassins.

We cannot undo their horrific and barbaric murder, we cannot 100% stop terrorism or young British men and women become radicalised by Islamic extremism but we can send a loud and clear message to the likes of Adebolajo and Adebowale that we too can avenge our sons and do it civil and within the confines of the law.

Rest In Eternal Peace Lee Rigby!

And finally was the Lawson Saatchi Grillo saga.

People please take note because I am going to say this only once. “Don’t ever sue the help, or take them to court.”

If, your maid, assistant or any staff in the form of house and personal help allegedly stole from you, just fire them. And before you give them their P45, make sure your lawyers gags them for life. Then change all your locks, codes and passwords plus of course make sure your favourite Berkin is where and how you last left it.

Nigella was gracious and calm when attending the court but she was stupid to get in a scuffle with the help in the first place. The Grillo sisters have been with her for a million years, which means they knew everything there is to know about her, her temperaments and what makes her tick. People will believe what they say simply because they were close for a very long. Plus being blood sisters, the Grillos lived, socialized and did everything together!

Ms Lawson was at a disadvantage from the second she hired them!!!

Next the book deal. Not Nigella’s but Francesca and Elisabetta’s.
