We do need teachers like Katherine Birbalsingh!

Katherine Birbalsingh, the Tory teacher who inspiringly spoke last week at the Conservative Party Conference, against the shackles of political correctness that plight our education system and as a result, the injustices it inflects on those it was entrusted with educating, empower and preparing for the future, has sadly resigned her teaching post.
After her speech last week the Headteacher and the Governing body of the school decided to suspend Ms Birbalsingh, but following pressures from parents she was reinstated, only to resign this week – Why!?
Rumor has it that by speaking out, telling the truth and highlighting the failings and short comings of the current education system, she broke some kind of code, and because of that her stay in that institution became impossible – very clog and dagger stuff – however now she is out!
It is surprising while at the same time sad to see a talented and passionate educator like Katherine Birbalsingh not stand a chance even with parental support, simply because she spoke her mind, because she spoke the truth.
What message are we sending to our youngsters if teachers are not allowed to speak their mind or point out what’s wrong with the education system?
What hope do we, as parents, have if those we trust to care for our most valued and treasured legacies can’t be trusted to be honest and tell the truth!?
But most of all, what kind of nation are we to allow such tyranny mold the minds of our future generations!
We need honest, vibrant, and passionate teachers who love and enjoy teaching, watching Ms Birbalsingh last week speak she was all those things, the school might have got what they wanted but the students have lost out by her departure.
