Kudos Mr. Isaby,

I am sure that most people with any interest in politics know that in the past weeks there has been a huge cross party effort to ‘Save General Election Night’. Which thankfully has been achieved and an old institution was rescued from yet another reform for the sake of reform.
What were they thinking!? Regardless of how much we were meant to save in energy, man power or even money the election night count is the heart and soul of every Election in our country. It is Christmas, Easter and every Birthday all rolled in one – this kind of joy should never be tampered with it should be cherished and preserved. Watching history unfold on a TV screen with exhausted yet very eager campaigners after a long and exhausting day – starting with a Dawn Ride and ending with weary feet after pounding the streets gathering every possible vote – is true democracy at its best. How could anyone think it is sensible to take that away!
Thank you to all who were involved in keeping this British Tradition alive, but my biggest and very special gratitude goes to Jonathan Isaby the editor of ConservativeHome.com who started the ball rolling with his online campaign on facebook, thank you, congratulations and well-done.
