A Man of Substance

David Cameron MP

Labour proudly and triumphantly started this entire softy- touchy – feely, I am one of the guys sit with your mate and have a chat on a Sunday night TV show ‘trend’. Working with what they have – they did good. And, they should be happy, many people are happy for them.

Enter the Conservatives modern, fresh, confident full of compassion and ready to serve. A party in touch with the folks, unafraid to show the public their operation from the inside happy to take the voters with them on the campaign trail, and answers with ease (a neutral interviewer by the way) the tough and intrusive questions.

Watching the Cameron interview last night with Sir Trevor McDonald, I felt a sense of joyful pride come over me – initially I thought it is expected, after all I am somewhat bias – and then Twitter happened.

There was a clear right left divide, expected, but unlike the Brown Morgan interview – where all you sensed (from the tweets) was discomfort from the right, and on occasions a little cringe here and there – last night the left tweets were simply venomous and nasty!

Even though it was the Left who started this trend (a few Sundays ago), the Right following suit did not sit too well with them!

WHY!!!?

SUBSTANCE!

Last night Cameron did not come into our livening rooms after being accused of bullying staff, and to TELL us he is one of the guys!

He came into our homes to share with us what makes him tick, what moves him and gets him out of bed every morning.

Unlike Brown who ‘told us’ who he is.

Cameron showed us that he is a determined, hardworking everyday kind of guy (who takes the train drinks John Smith bitter and gets ripped off by vending machines on train station platforms’). He demonstrated to us that he is a man you like and can trust but most of all we saw a sincere man who cared about people, the country and the environment we all live in. And that my friends is pure Substance.
