Did the Liberals bite more than they can chew?

The LibDem have a fantastic opportunity this election to make their mark and they know it. By them sharing equal air time in the leaders’ debate and all party political broadcasts many in the party are excited at their prospects, but with prospects come responsibilities, such as being earnest and honest.

A few days ago Nick Clegg claimed publicly that the election was not a two horse race while literature distributed in his own constituency (Sheffield Hallam) where he is the incumbent standing for reelection says otherwise !

Yesterday at PMQs with a huff Clegg referred to Brown and Cameron as “He & He” – if his intention was to look and sound like a ‘macho hombre’- it did not work! He sounded whinny and looked frustrated – not a commanding look some would say!

It is understandable that always being last and only having two questions to ask at PMQs can be frustrating, it is also understandable that freshmen (Clegg was only elected MP in the 2005 General Election) tend to make rookie mistakes. Which can be forgiven ones or twice but any more than that and it could translate into arrogance – the same goes for counting your chickens before they hatch.

So the question is did Liberals bit more than they can chew are they way in over their head!?
