So What!

Posted 19 Apr 2010 by Walaa Idris

OK, the mood amongst some Tory grassroots is not the greatest – and who would blame them. Years of canvassing, leafleting and knocking on doors – and when finally Brown ‘had’ to call the election – with only three weeks to polling day!

Its Friday morning and all everybody is talking about is……. you know the rest.

And So What!

So we have a slip up, a bump, and even a slight a set back……still So What!
It ain’t over – 16 full days of canvassing, talking to people, and getting our message out. Our leader has two more debates and many more messages to deliver.

It is only over if we believe it is, if we let it be over!

For those of you who are like me and have absolutely no doubt what so ever that Cameron and the Conservatives will produce the goods on May 6, I salute you.

And those of you who feel a little wobble I leave you with these words (from an unknown) that have helped me time and time again;

“We all have marathons to run and oceans to swim. We all face waves and tangle with storms that twist up our life. But stroke after stroke or step after step you close the distance between possibility and fact”

Keep it up – we are very close!

“Years of canvassing, leafleting and knocking on doors” So, what.

“Cameron and the Conservatives will produce the goods on May 6” – No again – It’s voters who decide.

What about policies?

Reversing, the regressive Digital Economy Act.

Growing up and accepting we’re in Europe.

.. and the World.

Scrapping ID cards.

Restoring habeas corpus, civil liberties and decent human rights.

That might get you somewhere….

:-)
