How Not to Win Friends and Influence People!

I read HERE a post by Iain Dale about my strange encounter with Diane Abbott, and it reminded me of an encounter I had with her staff.

About two years ago Ms Abbott was celebrating 20 years as an MP and I send a card congratulating her on her historic achievement. A couple of days later I received a letter telling me she is not my MP and how to find and contact mine. Surprised I called her office and explained [not that the card needed any explaining] my reasons for sending the card. All I got was ‘Oh thank you’ – although I did not expect Bells & Whistles a little enthusiasm would have been nice!

The moral of this story is; employees are in more way than one a reflection of their employer.
