The length some will go for attention.

The Bercow's 2

Earlier this week I missed picking up my ‘freebie’ copy of the Evening Standard so went online to read the Anne McElovy interview with Sally Bercow. The revelation a few weeks back that Sally Bercow has stretched the truth on a job application by claiming that she was an Oxford graduate while she did not finish her degree, included qualification on her CV she did not earn. Next it turned out she is a Labour supporter and activist and that she intends to stand for them in the coming local elections. I was very curious what a full interview might uncover.

I finished the article and my suspicions were confirmed. Sally Bercow is a woman who craves a lot of attention and will go to any length to be at the centre of that attention. It is what she has been doing all her life, binge drinking, sleeping around, lying on her CV, representing Labour while married to a leading Conservative, pride herself on being argumentative and picking arguments with her bosses. It seems she will do anything to be centre stage. Now that her husband is in a prominent position (the Speaker of The House) she wants to take political centre stage and become a Labour MP. These are all qualities of someone who yearns for and needs attention, someone who needs to be conspicuous at any cost.

As for her opinion on David Cameron, well, it would have been a surprise and out of character if she said something different, everything she said Labour has said before. She simply repeated what her comrades in the Labour party have been trying so desperately and unsuccessfully to sell to the British public. Her remarks are the type that goes in one ear and out the other, and if anything they tell more about her than David Cameron.
