Est -Cameron et Sarkozy amis naturels?

Watching Cameron & Sarkozy this afternoon their body language their conversation and the whole ambiance surrounding them was comfortable and relaxed. They were clearly at ease with each other. It was the type of hassle-free easiness that comes naturally when two friends who like and trust each other get together.

And that got me thinking about Britain and her friends – France is our geographical neighbour and our histories go back centuries that made it easy to stay close. We also always managed to have a very good relationship with our cousins across the pond – especially with Regan & Thatcher in the 80 and more recently with Bush and Blair [who despite being opposites ideologically have maintained a very warm friendship]

Sarkozy is a Conservative, he is also relaxed and can enjoy a laugh or two, Obama on the other hand is a little up tided and unlike Blaire his doctrine is too far to the left. However, it will be interesting to watch the body language next month when Cameron flies to the States. But if I had to bet I will bet on a cordial relationship with Washington and a far warmer friendship avec Paris!
