A Scot taking over from an Englishman!
Posted 30 Jun 2010 by Walaa Idris
As of today, June 30, the Edward Elgar’s [an English man] twenty pound notes will no longer be legal tender. They have been replaced with the Scottish economist Adam Smith’s notes which has been in circulation for a while now. Both men are British and respectively, both men have outstanding contribution to the Arts and Economics.
The new note has more security and safety features – and the one am looking at looks much brighter. But do you think an English man or woman would have been more appropriate on an English Note – what say you?
PS, today also is the last day to register at the discounted rate for the Conservative Party Conference – this year the Tories are going back to Birmingham.
