So what changed?

Is the question I could not help but ask when I found out Diane Abbott has put her name down for the Shadow Cabinet.

It was friends pressuring her to stand for the leadership of the party that made her go forward four months ago. Known as one of Labour’s most rebellious yet somewhat a recluse MP and the nations’ first black female Member of Parliament, for over 25 years Diane never put herself forward for front line politics – suddenly this time she goes for the Labour Party leadership and now its new shadow cabinet!

Why now, what changed!?

However, of all the current Labour MPs she is the only one who increased her majority last May, that alone should make her worthy of any post she wants and I would like to take this opportunity and which her the best of luck!

I think it irelavent as Labour will be consigned to the political wilderness until they know how to define Labour as a party post Nu/old Blair/Brown but with jokers like Ed Balls in the pack who knows when?
