The Untouchables!

The latest Wikileaks cables recount allegations that Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir has siphoned $9billion of oil money into his overseas personal accounts while his “people” live an impoverished life – as news goes it does not come as a surprise.
President Al – Bashir is not the first dictator who has done so and won’t be the last. But calling for his arrest for embezzlement while an outstanding warrant for a greater crime already exists – is like charging Al Capone for tax evasion!
Two things the West needs to understand about Sudan and the Sudanese mentality. The first, Al – Bashir has kept the US and all things American at bay, there is little to no US presence (business, corporations even the popular exchange currency in the Sudan has become the Euro) and that makes him a hero in many eyes.
Secondly, the timing of these leaks, although not deliberate, the Sudan is currently holding a referendum on splitting the country into two nations (North and South). Those in power will explain the leaks and its accusation as a political attack on a nation’s sovereignty, as another Western ploy to unseat a popular seen by many as “brave” leader who stood up to the mighty tyrant USA!
As for the money being in the UK banks or any Western institution, is a fat chance – if such monies exists they’ll most definitely be somewhere East – like Dubai, Bahrain, even China or India – but never in the West!
