Jacqui Smith and Porn Again!

When times are good and the economy is buoyant, it’s still difficult to lose a job and even harder to adjust to that loss and the new circumstances. The emotional rollercoaster that comes with losing a job you probably loved and enjoyed doing can be a nightmare to many people – and not everyone is as capable and equipped emotionally to deal with it.

Sometimes and especially when times are hard as the case is these days – people will take and do any job that comes their way to make ends meet.

Most people that is!

Former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, and the third woman in the history of this country to hold a Great Office of State, fall from grace started when she was questioned about a back room she rented from her sister claiming it was her main residence for the benefit of expenses. Then came the 88p bath plug also claimed for on MP expenses, but of course the back breaker was a bill for two porn films her husband watched at in their second home while Ms Smith was down in London on government business, also on expenses. There is no doubt to my mind that she suffered a lot of humiliation for these claims and maybe even lost her seat (Redditch) as a result of them.

So when I read today she is fronting and presenting a programme titled Porn Again – and posing in front of a Soho sex shop for its publicity – to be honest I was mildly surprised.

However, I was shocked by what she told Radio Times: ‘I know that it was my expenses people looked at first because I was a woman and should have been at home looking after my husband and children’!!!!!

What !?

Nooo, Ms Smith, people looked at you because you weren’t being sensible – and guess what? You’re doing it again!
