Winners and Losers

David Cameron, during PMQs yesterday, telling Ed Balls to shut up and describing him as the most annoying person in modern politics was more tongue- in-cheek than a serious indictment – even though I do think Mr Balls can be extremely irritating. However, it’s refreshing to see the impromptu human side of our politicians, especially as we all from time to time become infuriated by colleagues, friends and foes. Cameron is a winner for simply being human and reminding us that our politicians are real people who can be annoying and become annoyed.

Moussa Koussa, Libya’s Foreign Minster, who defected to the UK yesterday – is a man with blood on his hands – a coward who jumped ship when it began sinking and that makes him a loser. Nevertheless he is a useful and important loser. Useful for what we can gain and learn from him about Gaddafi and his operations – after all Koussa was Libya’s head of security and intelligence for 15 years before heading the Foreign Office. Important because he’s a big fish and can be followed by other equally big fish to help isolate the Colonel and hopefully bring an end to this situation without any further carnage.

Another excellent article, Walaa! Would be interested to hear what you think should happen to Kousa now.

By the way, hot off the press, it’s worth checking this out:
