The special wake up election

DNC & GOP 1

Last week I wrote about the slim possibility that the Democrats might lose their Massachusetts Senate seat – the seat became vacant when Senator Edward Kennedy passed away last August.

With so much riding on this election the Democrats felt obligated to use their trump card and sent the Commander in Chief to rescue the situation. On Sunday in front of a half full hall he showed a side many Democrats and non Democrats where pleased to see – President Obama got angry and expressed it. In Boston the president told the election rally; “Understand what’s at stake, Massachusetts. It’s whether we’re going forward or going backwards – If you were fired up in the last election, I need you more fired up in this election.”

Was it too little too late? Maybe, is it going to work? Probably not!

So much has happened since the inauguration a year ago, most of which Americans don’t seem to be very pleased with. As honourable and as humane universal health care in its intentions but as the saying goes – the devil is in the details. However, ObamaCare is not the main or the only problem the DNC (Democratic National Committee) is facing but it is the stick that broke the camel’s back and it is set to become the legacy of this presidency.

Americans from all walks of life are inherently conservative, hard working go getters and more capitalistic than any other nation on earth. Free enterprise is what the United States was founded and built on, that foundation can not be wiped out without a logical explanation and clear understanding of why it is being exchanged. And that is were this administration has gone wrong. With their large majority and a very popular president they were under the misguided impression that they can toss out over two hundred and thirty three years of beliefs and traditions with a stroke of a pen. And forgot the simple lesson of elections – they did not win, the Republicans lost.

Yes, Obama is charismatic, a brilliant orator most of the time and his message of hope and promise of change have resonated with many people the world over – all that covered 50% of the his total votes. What the Democrats forgot and ignored is the other 50%. They are the ones who voted on what they were promised in the big speeches and the grand rallies – promises like working together and being bipartisan, transparency and being honest, resolving the expensive wars not sending more troops to Afghanistan plus the clear Marxist agenda Obama, Reid and Pelosi are driving fast through the country.

Americans today have buyer remorse, while it is not possible to get a full refund they are concerned that there might be permanent damage by 2012 for an exchange, therefore they are sending a wake up call now, let’s hope someone is listening.
