Is the door to the Lords on a timer?

Reading about Ann Widdecombe feeling snubbed by Cameron is very touching. She gave a lot to the country, the party and political life, and one would expect by now her talents would have been recognised and utilized.

Funny how only yesterday Adrian Hilton on Conservative Home addressed the party’s obsession with inviting more women to join the candidates’ list. The invitation came from the same people who a few months ago, culled many outstanding female candidates!

However, the same fixation does not seem to apply for the upper house! Plus Widdecombe, there are many brilliant Tory women who will add great value to the Lords.

The list, of such women is long and exhaustive, but one lady stands out every time there is talk about the Lords. Dame Marion Roe, her continued outstanding contribution will best serve our nation and the party with her sitting in the upper house.

I truly hope the door to the Lords is not on timer as there is always room for more commons sense.
