Who? Who is Charlotte Crosby?

Charlotte Crosby

She is the 2013 winner of Celebrity Big Brother, twitterly known as #CBB.

Charlotte winning Celebrity Big Brother proves that our pop culture has reached its lowest denominator. All I can say is God help us all.

Never sat down and watched almost a full Big Brother series since it was on Channel Four, back when it was presented by the mega entertaining, who in my opinion is the most natural super engaging game show host, Ms Davina McCall

But this year, in the spirit of bonding with my daughter, who is back home for a short stint after graduating University, for the past three weeks I sat down most nights for an hour and watched Celebrity Big Brother with her.

Ten years after the franchise first started, the show is still the same mindless nonsense it was on C4. Its central theme is still putting together desperate to become famous minor and faded celebrities and push them as far as possible to squeeze from them a bad and hopefully very humiliating behaviour. The idiot participants all know it, yet they all fall for it.

This year’s winner is a reality show star, Geordie Shore. I heard of the show but never watched it, so I can’t comment on it. However, for the best part of 22 days I watched Charlotte in action. She is a young unsophisticated, lacks basic guidance and direction, woman. Whom after watching a few times, I could not help but wonder ‘where is her mother?’ The only thing, the unbelievably loud Crosby did all day every day, in -between publicly passing gas from both ends and occasionally wetting her bed in her sleep, is eat, drink uncontrollably and sleep.

She has nothing to offer people both young and old, besides mindless entertainment. The cringe worthy kind you laugh at once or maybe twice, but then get tired and even a little embarrassed watching it.

Winning the #CBB last night, sadly 1) tells her what you’re doing is right and we love you for it, keep doing it, and 2) sends the wrong message to those young people who need yet lack constructive mentoring.

Sadly, Charlotte Crosby’s winning says to people of all ages bad behaviour opens doors and can take you places
