Dreams do come true!

As a sucker for happy optimistic endings the story of Zoah Hedges-Stocks is a testament to that, full of optimism and determination and it ends beautifully. Zoah is a traveller girl who grew up in a caravan with her travelling family, in the summers she used to help out by selling toffee apples and candy floss while missing a whole term of school.
Until recently her ancestors could not read and write and Cambridge was the only university she heard of because her family sometimes worked there for the May Ball. Inspired by tales of travellers folklore she dreamt of studying there. Following her dream she applied to the university and was offered a place on condition of getting three A grades on her A-Level exams, but unfortunately, she received a B on one of her subjects.
As the saying goes; “When there is a well there is always a way” Zoah’s dream was too big and too important for her to let go at the first hurdle – on results day she called the college and pleaded with them for a place which they gave her a day later.
At 20 Zoah Hedges- Stock (very Oxbridge name) has achieved her childhood dream – despite the odds and all that could have stood on her way she won her place at the Murray Edwards College and made that dream a reality- a very inspiring lady indeed.
