It's time for work now!

Although today was not DC’s official outing on the dispatch box as Prime Minister, it felt like it. And he looked very much the part – I was not sure how seeing Clegg sitting side by side to fellow Tories would feel – and that too felt very natural!

I was elated to see Speaker Bercow re-elected. Regardless of what he did or did not do before, everybody deserves a second chance and his sounded unanimous. As a country we had enough drama for one month besides as a party we will not benefit from any kind divisions in our ranks at the moment.

The Speaker’s re-election was also a good way to safe Nadine Dorries MP (a fellow Conservative) from her self. No matter what her intentions are for not wanting Speaker Bercow re- elected, at this moment in time they will seem more personal than professional – and with all that is going on her timing could not have been more wrong.

Now we have a new freshly elected parliament, a brand new style formed government and reinstated Speaker – let’s get on with the business at hand and sort out the mess Labour left behind.
