Finally, some real good news about the Gulf Oil spill

Three month after the offshore drilling explosion that devastated the Gulf Coast of America, there is some good news today. The crush of mud has finally plugged the blown-out well and stopped the gush of oil. It took 2,300 barrels of mud forced down the well [an operation called static kill] to push the crude back down to its source.
Add to that a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration report claimed that only 30% of the spilled oil remained in the Gulf and is degrading quickly, the remaining spill has been cleaned, contained or otherwise disappeared. That allowed for the Florida Keys and the East Coast to be declared no longer under threat.
Kent Wells, BP senior vice president, said: “We’re in a good place today, but we want to get it permanently over.” Hear, hear it is most definitely a good place to be in today!
