Thanks Rob!

This blogpost is dedicated to Rob Stickland because he is the reason I am posting it.

I agree with most of what Rob said on his blog HERE and add, because of this endemic culture of Health and Safety, today we have kids who never kicked a ball, teenagers who don’t know how to ride a bicycle, and toddlers who are minded by Children’s TV. Not to mention the increasing number of obese kids who due to inactivity are border line disabled.

All unnatural and destructive outcomes of a culture that have very little basis on reality and what parents want for their kids or from their caregivers, but everything to do with over zealous bureaucrats who give little or no regards to the human cost, socially, psychologically and ultimately financially and are only focused of protecting their backs!

If this government achieves nothing at all but dismantle the debilitating grip of Health & Safety in this country it would be hailed as a great success!

I agree with you on the points about child related health and safety. I enjoyed many school trips as a child and it would be a shame if kids today don’t have similar experiences (I’m 26 and already saying ‘kids today’ – oh dear!).

However, there are some aspects of Health and Safety that make perfect sense. It would be foolish to ‘dismantle’ it completely.
