The writing was on the wall!

Posted 29 Sep 2010 by Walaa Idris

How did we miss the writing on the wall, when it was all there for us to see!

I find it surprising, when a few weeks ago the polls and bookies favoured Ed Miliband over his older brother David that no one thought beyond the political consciences of that win.

Watching clips of David Miliband yesterday in the hall during Ed’s speech, his whole expression and demeanour was heart breaking. Regardless of my political alliances I never wish that kind of feeling on anyone – losing is painful; there is no doubt about it, but losing with no hope of ever standing again, losing and as a result having to turn your back on the one thing you know, love and worked for all your life is devastating.

Which raises the question did the two brothers, as close as they keep telling us, and those close to them, see this coming? And if so, did they prepare for it?

On the other hand, I would like to take this opportunity to wish David Miliband and his family all the best on his next move and if I may, my advice will be to remember that every cloud has a silver lining!

I’m sorry. i don’t understand. If you enter a competition , you may not win..

If you choose to fight your brother, it’s your choice.

it’s nobody else’s business

why all the fuss ?

to the victor the spoils, to the loser …get over it

The fuss is because, they both said it was OK for the other to win and when that happens they will work with each other, now the inevitable happened, we find not that it was not OK to work with each other. Otherwise known as someone lied!
