End of an Era!

David Miliband this evening announcing that he will step down from front line politics is sad, it signals an end of an era and a period that saw the Labour Party become relevant and electable plus David is one of the most talented politicians of his generation.

Although, his reasons, to stay out of the line light and allow his brother to lead the party, are honourable, in my opinion, his absence from the front bench will damage and disunite the party more than bond it. It will give his supporters and the media a Carte Blanche on attacking his brother’s leadership.

But the question still remains, is this phase one of a full retreat from UK Politics or does Mr Miliband still wants to comeback at a later time?
