When common sense prevails!

This is going to come as a surprise to many, but I have to agree with the former Home Office Minster Bob Ainsworth in suggesting maybe we should look at new and different ways to change the emphasise on drugs – and end simply disrupting its flow and use – as oppose to reducing and eradicating it for good. His argument makes perfect sense and we should consider looking at and debating alternatives, especially if some of them had success in counties similar to ours.

Drug use in many cases is an illness and should be treated as such. This will cut its profitability and the exploitative nature of its use, therefore, and hopefully, reducing its appeal to those who push it.

For a long time my opinion was very black and white when it comes to illegal drugs and their, but clearly there is a lot of grey over lap and that’s where Mr Ainsworth has a very good point. If for almost half a century we have been fighting its use, and supply in one way with little or no success, then maybe it is time to change tact, and look at alternative ways and methods to manage the whole industry – users and suppliers!

People are using all sorts of “addictions” to self medicate the emptiness and hurt they feel inside. The only help is for them and us to “Love God, love one another”. If we have no HOPE what do we have?

I have to agree we need hope and some people need help to learn how to hope and belief that it can get and be better.
