Just blame it on Nick!

Global Warming

Might as well just blame Climate Change on Nick Clegg and be done with it, we do everything else!

These days every time I look up someone somewhere is blaming something on Nick Clegg and the LibDems. It seems over night from the kingmakers and the party that held the balance of power our coalition partners are now blamed for everything and has become the punching bag of everyone. Its like being the new kid in the class or the new pledge in a fraternity – hazing we used to call it when I was at University – it was intended as an icebreaker and a bit of fun but also a way by which the older members’ said “you better appreciate what you’re joining cause we’re the best” sort to speak. Even then it wasn’t 100% allowed but some Fraternities and Sororities used a ceremonial version of hazing their pledges. Of course by today’s PC- ness and Health & Safety regulations even the mildest of versions will qualifies as bullying.

And that’s what some media and the self proclaimed progressive left are doing. They are bullying Clegg and his party, because they did not prop-up the losing party, the one that lost the General Election last May, and instead they went into coalition with the winning party, the party that won the majority seats.

The purpose of the exercise is very clear; the instructions are idiot proof – do and say whatever you need to break this coalition – end off! Not because it’s bad for Britain, how could they possibly know – its not even a year old, break it because its not with Labour!

Largely agree, but the Tories are not ‘the winning party’, nor did they ‘win the majority [of] seats’.

Dictonary definitions are not something Conservatives tend to acknowledge.

As jackyboy86 said, that Conservatives did not win the election – they simply got the most votes.

It’s worth noting that if the Liberal Demcorats sided with their more natural partners, they still wouldn’t have a majority and the two parties would have had to allign with others. That form of coalition could be considered too complex and unsustainable.

The Liberal Democrats simply made the most sensible choice for the country and put aside previous allegiances.

At times, the Labour opposition seems like the GOP style in the USA. Over there, they simply choose to oppose any policy which isn’t theirs, even if it has merits.

Nick Clegg should not be blamed for everything and neither should the Liberal Democrats.
