To show or not to show, Bin Laden’s Pictures!

President Barack Obama’s decision to not publicly show Osama Bin Laden’s photos is one of those Marmite moments – where whatever he did will be meet with huge opposition and conflict – and for that reason he is wrong not to make the photos public!

Although personally I don’t want nor care to see them – I feel the president has made a huge mistake by withholding their publication and he will live to regret that decision in weeks and month to come. Because regardless of the savagery and inhumane nature of making such images public – and despite concerns of what the deceased’s sympathizers might use those images for – seeing them will, ONE give most people including some of his followers closure and TWO, they will act as prove “to most” that the man is really dead, therefore closing the door on at least one conspiracy theory.

As for the issue of sensitivities – that dark morning on 9/11 Americans and the rest of the world watched as innocent people throw themselves to their death from the burning Towers on Bin Laden’s say so – I’m sure ten years on many are strong enough to handle seeing still photos of a gunned down man – plus there will be those who can do with the confirmation that the architect of those images is really gone!
