A friend indeed.....

….is a friend in need, that’s what Alistair Campbell, proved this morning!

In a week full of Labour tears’, Alistair Campbell holding back tears , his breaking voice and strained expression on the Andrew Marr Show, before managing an emotional “Tony Blair is a totally honourable man ….these constant vilifications………” – is a testament to that.

On the face of it, this is a man, a true friend, who has heard enough unfair accusations directed at his dear comrade. I admire that and to some extend I even agree with it.

Except today I am feeling a little cheeky, somewhat mischievous and maybe even a tad cynical – although not doubting Campbell’s loyalty to Blair – I can’t help wondering what if ‘in reality’ Campbell was caught off guard (after all the interview was meant to promote his new fictional novel not to talk about Blair) and needed a minute or two to compose himself!?
