I wonder where Mr Balls’ priorities lie!

Every time Labour twists polices, ideas and every word that comes out of the Tories I used to think; it’s expected, never mind, our ideologies are at opposite ends and maybe they don’t quite understand. But they do – understand that is. Even though its delusional, it is easier to shoot first ask questions later. They have been doing it for so long it is now the only way they know how to do politics. Regardless of the argument whether it makes sense or not, their rule is “if a Tory proposed it then Labour will oppose it”

I understand they have to hold the government to account – but if the public is to take Labour seriously they need to learn to take a step back, study all the facts before objecting.

This is exactly what didn’t happen with this morning’s announcement!

Iain Duncan Smith – the Work & Pensions Secretary [with all the compassion in the world] announced that he will HELP those trapped in joblessness as a result of not being able to move or can not afford to relocate in fear of losing their housing eligibility by making it flexible for them to move for work without losing any housing entitlement. The verbiage was clear, the sentiment unmistakable to everyone but Labour’s Ed Balls who wasted no time in accusing IDS and the DWP of scaremongering and bullying people into work.

He is standing for leadership, so ‘again’ I understand his need to jump at all and any media opportunity, but doesn’t he think some of the people he indirectly wants to keep unemployed will appreciate having the freedom to move around the country without losing their housing entitlement? Or knowing that a cap on non EU migrants is in place to safe guard their best interests, or this government trusts families to know and choice the best form of education for their children? Or for the fist time in memory they are under a government formed by opposites solely so they can deliver the best for the country at a time when his government [Labour] has brought this country to its knees!

The culture of shoot first and questions later might be cool in Western Flicks but in reality it is not edifying and screams ignorance, arrogance and insecurity.

With all due respect Mr Balls, you need to re-examine your priorities; is it media appearances and photo ops or what’s best for the country?

After seeing Ed Balls on Question Time the other night it looks to me like he’s in it for the photo opportunities and being the mouthpiece for the “we hate the Tories” brigade.

I hope he is not elected as Labour leader as I think they deserve better and I don’t want a potential PM as a man that opens his mouth without thinking of the good of the country rather than his own political dogma.

Get Labour Out [nice name by the way] – I get the feeling helping people is not a priority for Mr Balls. He knows his days are numbered as an MP and he is just ‘harvesting’ material for his memoir. Next election his is one seats the Tories will walk.

Paul, I am not sure they can’t see through him – if you noticed he is the only one who said anything today – all the others were buy campaigning elsewhere.

If Ed Balls is the best that the labour party can put forward as a potential leader, then god help them.

Littlechrity, lets hope he wins we want them off No 10 and White Hall for as long as possible. There is a lot of fixing that needs to be done and they will only be in the way!
