Great news and a good, good, sign

Great news that the banks are making profits and seemingly on track to get out of the financial rut that plagued them in the past years. With things looking up, now the public needs and deserves to see that translated into support. Support in lending to small and medium size business [the backbone of every flourishing economy] and mortgages to first time buyers and those on lower and middle incomes. In other words, now is time for the banks to do what they are meant to do, start lending.
