Who is the Leader of the Opposition?

Posted 30 Sep 2010 by Walaa Idris

After almost a week in Manchester we now know that Ed Miliband thinks David Cameron is not being optimistic, New Labour is dead and he likes to be called the leader of a new generation. All well and good in the SoundBits and slogans department, but we still don’t know what direction Ed Miliband is going or on what side of the political spectrum the Labour party is leaning this time around!?

Some will say its early days and he needs time to find his feet – but most leaders have an idea about the basics fundamentals of their core direction. Red Ed or as some prefer to call him Odd Ed, is totally clueless except for strongly denouncing everything New Labour and refuting being a Red Labour. As Nikki Graham, the Big Brother (the Channel Four TV show) contestant would put it – ‘who is he, who is Ed Miliband!?’

Plus what is Labour now?

Is he a socialist gung – ho on taxing everything that moves and giving his union buddies a full reign on the country, or is he another occupier of the centre grounds?

Yes, its early days but he must know, and of course we want to know.
