Winners & Losers ~ June 6, 2010

The Chief Executive of British Petroleum (BP) Tony Hayward on Marr this morning has given guarantees that BP will not leave any victim behind. He promised to put the coast back to its pre oil spill state. So far, BP has facilitated a speedy claim and payment system therefore cutting the claims process from days to hours with payments taking place in under 48 hours. He also gave a solid commitment to shareholders. He is a winner for that and for being unafraid to say sorry and acting as oppose to just taking!

People like Ed Balls give politics and politicians a bad name – changing his mind so swiftly after the election because [immigration is now cool to talk about] makes him a hypocrite and a loser. We all knew [before, during and now after the general election] the effects of immigration both negative and positive – for him to vilify the Tories during the election [for talking immigration] and now jump on the wagon reeks of opportunism. I wonder which Labour candidate will jump on increasing the threshold on inheritance tax now!
