This Lady is definitely, not for turning!

My opposition to the Alternative Vote (AV) comes mainly from my not seeing the argument, the point of having multiple votes – even if they are on the same ballot paper, to elect one person!

Common sense tells us; you want someone to win, besides voting for them, you encourage others to do the same and vote for them. I never bought into all of that second preference business which is simply a total waste of resources, not to mention an inaccurate measure.

Therefore, when I heard Art Malik, yesterday at the LibDem Conference, say that under AV Jedward would have won the X Factor title last year, I became even more convinced that AV is a bigger joke than I believed it was before!
