Double Jeopardy!

Yesterday Vince Cable attacked Cameron’s immigration speech and described it as “very unwise” – and even though some might see this as a sign of cracks and internal division in the coalition. In reality it’s healthy and good for the stability of the union and the individuality of the two parties’.

The timing of Dr. Cable’s outburst is also very good, just weeks before polling – it’s a excellent moral boost for LibDem activist – and makes for a great doorstep affirmation that the party still maintains its own entity while it works as a team for the greater good. And that is a positive thing!

However there is a downside to these outbursts in the long run because they can not continue to happen without a consequence. Cable can not keep going against the grain without taking a stand, sooner or later he will be expected to act on his believes. The question is what is going to do then!?
