The Archbishop of Canterbury is wrong twice!

Posted 9 Jun 2011 by Walaa Idris

First because he is suppose and expected to be impartial, the Church is a neutral non political body. By using a left wing magazine – the New Statesman – to launch a highly political attack on the Government, makes him and his argument lose all impartiality and became a party political issue.

Secondly every member of the House of Commons is elected and consequently mandated by the people to speak on their behalf. Therefore his blistering attack that the government is committing Britain to “radical, long-term policies for which no-one voted” is wrong. Because they (the policies) have all been voted and passed by elected parliamentarians who were sent to the commons to represent us.

Next time it will be wise of him to think before speaking, and if that was a deflection exercise I think it just backfired!
