Shame on Labour for asking veterans to fund them!

Was not intending to post today – too busy – but read this piece in the Guardian which made me laugh and at the same time wonder if Labour has lost all sensitivities!? I know the person that came up with the idea and those who approved it were probably thinking -”the Tory led government” has cut the armed forces budget……., so let’s offer ex forces rock-bottom memberships at only 1p to join Labour!

Sounds good over a couple of pints down the pub with your mates – but in the day of light after examining the facts, it doesn’t look good, why? Because, it was Labour that sent our armed forces to two wars poorly equipped – remember the melting boots and the poorly fitted kits – the no helicopters to transport solders and our guys getting shoot at and blown up on roadsides because they were walking while everybody else was flying!! The list is gruesomely long but I’m sure you get the picture.

As for the current cuts, why are we here in the first place? Because of Labour’s mismanagement – I know Labour hates hearing it – hay we’re tired of saying it – but guess what? Stop denying your mistakes and it shall stop!!

1p is nothing – but it’s still asking those who put their lives on the line for us to pay – it would have been more honourable to invite veterans to join for nothing even if it’s just for the first year or during a short promotional period – that would have been a good litmus test.
