Government by Committee!

It feels like the election hasn’t finished yet and the end is nowhere in sight and I promise you it is not a good feeling to have!

I trust David Cameron, I know he has my best interest as a Briton in the forefront of the negations (with Clegg and the Liberal Democrats) and I hope my best interest as a Conservative activist comes second if not right up there at number one. Judging by the tweets, the comments on my facebook page and the chatter amongst activist many feel the same!

This government by committee business is not what the grassroots have bargained for; its outcome is a mystery that grows more mysterious by the hour. But the greatest anxiety of all is the prospect of working with a group of people until a couple of days ago we were fighting hard to steal their votes and politically defeat!

Unless the Conservatives form a minority government with some cooperation and/or understanding between them and the Liberals these backroom dealings (a by-product of a Hung Parliament) will become a fixture of British politics. So we might as well learn to live with them – as for liking them it is another matter all together.
