Choosing keeps getting harder and harder!

If my understanding of Gordon Brown’s announcement is correct then I feel used and very dirty. To get in bed with someone you don’t quite like is bad enough, but to find out they are bed hopping with people you ‘neither like nor respect’ is a very big blow!

That is how it will feel if the under tone of this afternoon announcement is correct (Brown will step down in September – Lib Dems will help Labour stay in power – Tories are back on opposition – which also means another General Election in a few month)

For the past 48 hours Tories were expected to accept the unthinkable and consider a coalition with the Liberal Democrats – some immediately and graciously saw that our country needed unity but others (me included) reluctantly swallowed and decided yes country first count me in!

If the liberals now decided to change tact half way and go with Labour – ideologically they will be much happier as their similarities out number their differences. But and there is two here, the math is going to be very hard to do because Lib – Lab ‘only’ is not enough to form a government and the second BUT is the public – they will never forgive the LibDems for propping up a government they voted out.

The choice is hard – liberals better choose carefully and wisely!
