Time to learn and move on!

PMQs today was painful on two levels. First, was watching Jack Straw waste his questions on cheap point scoring and doing it poorly. It was painful to watch but also a reminder that the dispatch box is not for the faint hearted.

The second, although this government is only a few months old, but the blame game needs to stop; Labour was a failure when it came to the size of government, a disaster in financial, business management and lacked the knowhow of all things economic. But we can not very week, as a government, defend and explain every action by blaming them. That’s what Labour did, to the point of exhaustion, for 13 years in government and as a modern and straightforward government we can not parrot them, we owe it to the public and ourselves to be the exact opposite, to be unique!

Which brings me nicely to my burning point; since the start of the economic downturn, every time the topic of the recession and financial hardships comes up people start asking who’s to blame and who is responsible? As if the only way to fix this mess is to find “who” did wrong but not “what” went wrong!

As bizarre as it might sound, and as difficult as it will be for those directly affected, we, all of us, and more-so those affected, must find the courage to move on. As long as the skies are still blue and the sun, daily, rises on the east and sets on the west we must carry on living positively and proactively.

Spiritual folks believe that everything happens for a reason, logical and scientific types believe it is cause and effect, whichever way we choice to explain it, common sense dictates that many unexplained things, just as those with explanation, happen because they can, all we need and can do is learn from them and move on!
