Winners and Losers ~ September 21, 2010

Simon Hughes MP, the LibDem deputy leader is a winner for delivering a spirited speech, which was needed after Clegg’s “Help me Help You” speech yesterday. It was also impressive how he made it absolutely clear that he has no trouble whatsoever with the coalition!

However, quoting Karl Marx makes him also a loser – “Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living.”

And although some might like to think of Marx as a Socialist he was a true Communist, who hated and despised all things Capitalist. Not only that, but the quote itself negates everything thing he said before it !!!!
