An open letter to all Conservative Party members, activists and supporters,
Posted 14 Dec 2010 by Walaa Idris

Dear All,
The Oldham East and Saddleworth Conservatives has readopted Kashif Ali to fight the by-election on Feb 3, 2011. This by- election was caused by the judicial ruling of the general election in the constituency to have been void.
It will be our first test as a government plus of course an opportunity to gain a new member of parliament.
Our candidate, Kashif, is a local man born and raised in the constituency, with deep roots and ties in the community and a high record of continues relentless support and understanding of its issues and needs. As the Conservative PPC, and for the past three years Mr Ali, was the face of the party and fought tirelessly to help improve the area for the local residents. He campaigned in many local issues such as securing investments in local NHS services, delivering a zero percent increase in Council tax, and developing new businesses in the region but despite his hard dedicated work he missed winning the seat by 2413 votes.
Now Kashif has an opportunity to win this seat for the Conservatives – last May he increased the Tory majority by 8.7% putting us in a strong third place and thus turning the seat into a three way marginal (and you all know how we love those marginals).
As I mentioned before we have everything to play for and very little time to achieve it. So let’s all converge on Oldham East and Saddleworth to give our support to Kashif and the association and turn this seat blue.
I look forward to seeing many of my friends there and even more excited to meet and make new ones.
Sincerely yours
Walaa
