Lazy and dishonest are not political beliefs.

No to AV

Chris Huhne might threaten with unfounded legal action; shout at the PM, throws a hissy fit during a Cabinet meeting before storming out to shine the light on his pro AV argument. But the truth still remains that he does not have a viable argument hence the attitude.

AV is not just a miserable little compromise it’s a big fat joke that will only destroy our politics to benefit the Liberal Democrats and crowns them the permanent Kingmakers of the UK parliament. As for the Yes side of Labour, for them, winning AV will “hopefully” break-up this coalition and crack a wedge among the Tories consequentially triggering a premature general election. We all know, with that lot it’s all about instant gratification and little much beyond that. Commonsense and substance never enters into it – as they have yet to evolve beyond the “them and us” politics!

I woke up earlier than usual this morning and could not go back to sleep. One of the beauties of Blackberries’ is being able to do many things without having to get out of bed at 4 o’clock in the morning. Looking at my Twitter timeline I saw a couple of retweets from Tory MPs Nick de Bois and Claire Perry – both tweets were tweeted after 3.30 am when the two MPs were still at the House of Commons debating in Chambers. I then saw a similar tweet from my own MP Greg Hands. All three Members of Parliament were elected last May under First Past The Post; all three were at their “office” from the day before – working hard and beyond the call of duty. Despite the hour (and unlike the spectacle Huhne and his cronies have been displaying during the past few weeks) their tweets HERE HERE and HERE showed their good spirit, love and dedication for their job and the country.

The hysterical lies peddled by the pro AV campaigners such as “Under AV your MPs will work harder and not fiddle their expenses” are enough reason to vote NO to AV in tomorrow’s referendum.

And by the way, can AV supporters explain how a voting system can change the nature of a human being, because when I last checked, being lazy and dishonest were not political beliefs!!
