Unfortunately, I disagree with Iain!

Unlike Iain Dale, I clearly see and understand the fuss being made about the remarks by Cardinal Kasper. If Heathrow is poorly built, managed and out of date, the Cardinal is free to use any other point of entry in the UK, we have many including private landing strips, and he will still be welcomed into the UK, with the warms and respect befitting his position.

However, a man of his standing, saying, that arriving at Heathrow was like landing in a third world country then go on to describe our believes as a form of aggressive secularism, was tactless and derogatory but most of all it was intended as a humiliation, and that is very wrong!

We, Britons are tolerant and compassionate, but make no mistake we are also very proud people.

Heathrow might not be the most attractive, up to date international entry point, heck it might even be below the international standard at developing country’s level, but it was not his place to tell us or say it!

Although a Muslim, from kindergarten, I was educated in a convent, by Italian Catholic missioners and I own them a lot, for they have taught me understanding, humility, and kindness. Sadly, Cardinal Kasper’s remarks were none of that; they were the words of a man who is not used to any opposition or objection and felt the need to vent, and that is unchristian.
