What's wrong with us!?

It was a tweet – read it here – that got me thinking today and I would like to share my thoughts with you.

At late we seem always reluctant to self promote or self applaud or even allow others to do it. If and when we do, we do it half heartedly; it then comes out laced with shyness and full of reluctance – which at times is endearing. But the shyness fast turns into shame and that’s when it becomes a little tedious and rather irritating. Recently, it seems all we do is put down all success, those who attain it and those who strive at achieving it – then we wonder why our youth and the future generations are so unmotivated by everything except maybe playing football marrying footballers or becoming pop artists.

Sadly, we are fast turning into a nation of whingers who are obsessed by others’ success but not in a good way!

What happened to the us, we used to be a nation of live and let live, don’t complain and never explain – the kingdom where the Sun Never Goes Down – not because we owned half the world and ruled the other half – but because we were positive, optimistic, driven and full of hope.

Old Holborn is right a Lottery winner, who will probably lose his entire win in less than ten years from the day he won it, is celebrated, adored and admired more than a banker who will help create sustainable wealth for many people many times over and leave legacies behind him!
